The Armory Arts and Music Center is excited to announce that they have brought James Geisler aboard as the Program Manager of the Music Resource Center.ames is a local musician who graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.
James has been with the MRC program for four years, originally working as a volunteer and then as an instructor. James has a strong passion for music. He is a local artist who records his own music and performs at local venues around Duluth.
The Music Resource Center is an after-school program that is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Fall session begins Tuesday, September 11th.
The MRC provides an alternative music education experience that is not found in the region. The MRC program includes
private lessons, rehearsal spaces, performance opportunities, professional quality instruments, and recording software and equipment. The MRC is open to area students from 6th – 12th grade and is located at Sacred Heart Music Center, 201 West 4th Street in Duluth.
At the Music Resource Center, kids from all different backgrounds and schools come together over the common language of music in a safe and creative environment. At the MRC, our mission is to inspire young people and, through music, equip them with life skills for the future.
The MRC is a program of the Armory Arts and Music Center and will move to its permanent home in the historic Duluth Armory on London Road once it is renovated.
The Music Resource Center had their last open mic night of the year, and are now celebrating the last week before summer break.
Come and join them for their CD release party at Beaner’s Cafe on June 2nd at 7pm. There they will be showcasing skills they have worked on throughout the year and selling the CDs with all of their music.
Entrance to the show and a CD costs a total of $10.
We hope to see you there to celebrate the musical accomplishments the students have made!
The MRC is open Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. If you are a singer, a songwriter, or play an instrument and want to take your music to the next level, the Music Resource Center is the place to check out.
The MRC has state of the art recording equipment and instruments on site for you to use. We offer performance opportunities and create a sampler CD of student work at the end of the year. Our instructors include professional teachers, musicians, and recording engineers.
